My visit to the Lake was so amazing. Annecy is a beautiful and peaceful city. The Lake had amazing views and it was simply picturesque.The water was very clear and the rumours about the lake annecy having the cleanest water in Europe seemed true.As a tourist to Annecy you definitely have to visit the Lake. There are alot of beautiful places to take nice pictures and after having a fun time at the lake there are a lot of restaurants and bars around you have a meal or drink at very affordable prices.I will definitely be visiting again in the future as I love it so much my only challenge with the city is that it's very small so you there are no trains or trams to go around and I dont understand how the buses worked.

Super super bluish lake covered around with mountains. Must recommend to take a boat ride which is worth. You can viewthe alps from here in the boat ride.

It was raining therefore not a good time to visit this lake. However this place is amazing with great views and shining blue water.Great place to visit in summer time for boating and swimming!

Definitely you cannot visit France without visiting this place “lac d’Annecy”. It is a magic place with these unimaginable views. Here you can walk with your family, your dog… all of the stores are pet friendly. I prefer to visit this village in summer or in the end of spring because the weather is the most important thing to enjoy it till 100%. Also, behind the pics, there is a big park with grass to rest a bit.

Truly stunning. I will certainly be back for a longer stay! There are water activities to try and the little village town has a lot more shops and restaurants than I had expected! Come for no less than a full day because you will want to enjoy the leisurely lunch, do shopping and enjoy lake. The morning market is really good and the locals are very friendly compared to the rest of France. The region is famous for its dairy products.

Such a beautiful lake with a magnificent view. You can enjoy a picnic with your loved ones while bathing in the lake or taking a sun bath. There is a good restaurant besides the lake but the number of food outlets can be increased to provide food at all times to the tourists.Apart from that, clear water, blue vibes and the pure environment just makes your day. ❤️

Based on our experience at the restaurant and the spa, I would recommend seeking other establishments. The view is fantastic (directly over the lake), and the building itself is elegant in its ancient beauty, but the food was overall disappointing, and our reservation for 2 massages at the spa got lost, the staff apologized, but 50 minutes went by between the moment when we arrived at the spa and the moment we finally walked out, still waiting for the towels that were supposed to have been brought to us so that we could at least enjoy the facility (massages were rebooked for a later date). The staff was clearly stressed about a wedding they were hosting that day, and the stress was palpable for the guests. I think we will cancel the rebooked massages : the facility seemed small, and overall disappointing for a 4-star establishment.

It is really all about the location. Without the waterfront access it would be a fairly standard hotel. Nonetheless the pontoon directly on the lake is amazing. Our room looked like it was recently renovated but the friends we travelled with had a much smaller, dated room. The spa is small. Staff at the reception was OK. The breakfast was overpriced and the hotel restaurant was closed several evenings. The young guy serving at the outdoor bar was outstanding.

My husband and I had our wedding here a week ago. It was the most amazing venue! All of our guests were extremely pleased. Everyone’s stay was spectacular. We look forward to visiting very soon and highly recommend staying here and getting married here!

About the hotel :Authentic , well preserved and charming.You Aube the impression of traveling back in time.The rooms are tiny .About the restaurant :The terrasse of restaurant is absolutely magnificent whether you are having breakfast, lunch or dinner. It is of great value and has an excellent choice of wines (bonus: reasonable wine prices). The sommelier (master of Porto) is amazing .FriendlyThe only «negative» is the setting inside the restaurant, it lacks space and some intimacy. There are only a few tables that are in front of the window which I can recommend - the rest of them are just not well positioned(Stayed there for a few nights in July 2022)

A picturesque and historic 'Abbaye' on the lake of Annecy, gets 100% on location, location, location, but also they looked after us all extremely well. The food, service and accommodation are all top notch and our three nights there were wonderful in every respect. Thank you all so much! PS It was our son's wedding and it couldn't have been a more perfect occasion in the most magical and enchanting hotel.

Beautiful setting and great hotel. Food was delicious too except for the curry risotto. That is the only dish that was not appetising but 3 out 4 days food was amazing

Sep 23 A real place of contrasts. On the one hand an idyllic location and on the spot lake swimming. Wonderful. On the other hand a place with only one rather poor coffee machine for a (quite costly) breakfast is not really trying hard enough. The real problem is it's rather poor on the access for persons with mobility issues. A similar standing of hotel in the UK with similar listed status would do a lot better.Taken together, enjoyed our stay here but we won't be coming back.

The most amazing hotel I’ve ever stayed in! Came here for a few days on our honeymoon and we fell in love. The staff were awesome, the views couldn’t be beat, and the hotel had so much history. We will be back very soon! The town is also very charming and located near many things, I would recommend making reservations for dinner. We came in the off season and it was really hard to get dinner due to things being fully booked

Merci Merci Merci! One of our first overseas trips with our 6 month old and Abbaye de Talloires did not disappoint. The staff were extremely accommodating and understanding - they provided a cot and high chair. We loved spending the day on the lake enjoying the sunshine, water and views. In the evening we ate incredible food and delicious wine at the hotel - it was from a fairytale. Specially Sebastian was very helpful as we had to amend our dates. Thank you for the hospitality! Spent a very relaxing weekend at the Abbaye de Talloires, a short drive from Annecy. Very attentive service and friendly staff. A perfect place to rest and unplug, enjoy the Abbaye’s great facilities, gardens and take a dip in the lake, all within a very cosy and exclusive atmosphere. The restaurant facilities on location are very good, but the Abbaye is also close to a number of fine dinning establishments in the area. Well worth the stay.

A true gem! This castle hosts a family to 23 generations long! They have inhabited the castle for over 1000 years, therefore it is one of the few castles in the world were you can truly see how medieval family's lived. Extremely well kept, an extraordinary experience! A must in Annecy

Beautiful castle with over 10 centuries of history! Great tour guide (Remi). Every room is beautifully decorated. For Christmas they have a market and kid friendly activities. A must visit. Gorgeous views

Incredible viewpoint over Menthon village, the Annecy lake and the surrounding peaks. The castle tour excell in guides telling the family bio dressed in Medieval costumes. The best experience was the library showcasing books since 15th century and the room with the family coat of arms. The garden and the views are just exceptional.

Château and grounds:Beautiful and very well kept. The views of the lake and mountains are stunning. You can walk around the grounds and enjoy time in the garden on a sunny day.Tour:It is only in French. Even when you inform the tour leader that half of the audience is English speaking, they don't switch or give any updates / snippets in English.

Superb castle, in a superb state. From outside, from valley, close to the castle or from inside, there is no view nor angle that is not worth seeing. The path to the castle goes through the grapes, above the lake, in the middle of the mountains. That is splendid.

Château de Menthon is an amazingly beautiful medieval castle, located in the commune of Menthon-Saint-Bernard, 12 kilometres south of Annecy.The first fortress was erected in the 10th century, but the present buildings were constructed between the 13th and 19th centuries.This remarkable castle stands on a 200 metres tall rock, and it was listed as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.The castle is opened for visits from April to November 11th but the interior of the castle is accessible only with a guide who speaks French or English.Bottom line: Very interesting and impresive site. Nice Chateau. Entry €11. You have to go around in a compulsory guided tour which takes an hour or so. Guide speaks in French only but English language pamphlets also available. The chateau rooms are small and tour groups are quite large so it feels a bit claustrophobic. Rooms are well furnished so it is interesting to see. The views of the lake are beautiful and almost worth the visit alone. Small cafe doing crepes and drinks, watch out for the ice cream as was full of flies on our visit. Also a small gift shop. Garden isn't really taken care of but there was no charge for entry. Free parking although the overspill parking we had to use was a bit of trek up the fill from the house itself. Worth a visit if you are in or around Annecy for sure!

Extremely busy during the holiday season and despite the generous parking sometimes is still not enough. The castel is beautiful, well maintained and still family owned.

Beautiful Castle with a lot of History. It's been in the family for centuries and they kept on enhancing and improving the castle with good maintenance. We had a great guided tour in English and saw many unique rooms with history and modern art. The castle has a panoramic view over the lake of Annecy and even has a shop for souvenirs as well as a little cafe. Great to spend 1,5-2hs of your afternoon. Back in the garden they keep peaco*ck's, fun to watch. There are also toilet facilities and free parking.

Beautiful place, worth the visit especially if you have kids! It can get crowded and if you do not speak French you need to read a couple of things in advance to be able to enjoy the visit. Tip: do not park in the first parking place you meet, there is one bigger further up, next to the entrance of the castle.

Lovely castle with a wonderful view of the lake. The tour was in French but they answered our questions in English. The library was particularly stunning with books several hundred years old. Highly recommend!

Incredible. One of the best waterfalls I've ever been to. Much more exhilarating than I'd imagined. Be careful on those wet slippery rocks. We cycled to the Route des Vignes at the bottom of the trail and walked up from there. It was fairly steep in places but took less than an hour.

Great place for a family friendly walk. Views across the lake from the summit and the view point just below it. The trails down to Talloires are steep and slippery and best avoided unless you're sure footed.

What is not to love here? It's beautiful, lush, shady in summer, (and with a fine swimming spot, which you have to yourself if you arrive before 11am) rich in color in fall and winter. Mushroom hunting is pretty decent and there are some very fine views over the lake. Heavy storms bring down huge trees that occasionally block the paths, but are eventually chopped into sections and left to decompose add they should be. In the rainy months, on several occasions, I have had it all to myself.

A great place for a short walk. The view from the top is awesome! We started from the top (near the golf place). The walk start with an uphill walk and then it is a very easy walk.It is a recommended shadowed walk in the woods.

Best restaurant I ever been to. And did a few other Michelin star. And this one clearly blew all my expectations.Everything was perfect. The staff was chill yet professional and funny. The dishes were perfectly balanced in terms of flavors, texture, presentation. And everything with local ingredients.I also really liked the wine pairing. It was only wines from around Savoie and with each we had a short description of where it came from and a history lesson!

Wonderful brunch. Scrumptious chocolate cake. Interesting take on French toast with spices. Poached egg served without toast. A little haughty and pretentious for this small, cozy but not fancy, hotel, but that’s France.

Had a fantastic dinner here right on the lake shores. Amazing wine list and regional produce perfectly cooked. Only point to improve would be to make sure the table and chairs are not full of insects and pollen when clients get seated under a tree.

Best place to chill-out and grab to eat just next to Lac' d Annecy. Perfect view of lake blue water and mountains.

Not worth visiting. The staff are very rude and not hospitable at all. They always claim that their restaurant and cafe are very busy, while every time we visited it only very few tables are occupied. I think that the only explanation is that the staff are too lazy to welcome and serve the guests.

Beautiful place and picturesque spot when visiting Annecy. The bridge is a hot spot amazing place for photo taking of the beautiful mountains ⛰🏔🗻🏕🌋and lake to see everything from there. Had a beautiful view with a stunning atmosphere. I love walking under this bridge with a fresh air. Highly recommend this. You can find the swan 🦢 and the duck 🦆 when you walk belongs the lake. There are some people who buy the key of love, so I think that why they call “Love Bridge”. Near the lake of Annecy, this is one of the place you should visit and take the picture.

This is not a review of the bridge exactly, but more of a review of the view of the lake and Annecy in general. We came on a beautiful sunny Friday afternoon and it seemed like nobody at all was working. Everybody was out in full force picnicking, playing on the lake, eating, swimming and just making a real day off the fabulous weather. 😁☀️ It's a beautiful lakeside town. To visit, the canals make it look like a cross between Venice and Amsterdam. Amsterdam. The old buildings are really quaint and there's even a market on Friday afternoons but it closes at 2:00 so get there early. I'll just say that there aren't enough public restrooms to accommodate all the tourists so it can be quite a bit of a challenge queueing for one.

It's only a tiny and overcrowded bridge with a good view and an interesting story behind it, but otherwise nothing really special unless you believe in the legend of the love surrounding the bridge. Still a good place to drop by as part of visiting the park.

When in Annecy you must visit Musée-Château d'Annecy. Rich in history, culture and art! The visit is worth 3x the 5€50!!

Very interesting to see. Also wonderful views of Annecy. It's a very steep walk up to get here so not suitable for people with limited mobility. Also inside the museum there are many levels with many stairs, so not suitable for everyone. Very friendly and helpful staff that speak many languages.

One of the best places to see the whole city of Annecy. The museum has a lot to see about the history, interesting things about the lake and etc. If you are visiting Annecy I think this is one of the places you should visit.

We didnt go in but dropped by to take iconic pictures of the part of La Thiou canal sliced into half by the Musee building, which makes it look like the bow of a brick ship. Stare at it hard enough you might even think the building is sailing towards you!

Very interesting visit. Don’t expect crazy historic place, but you will definitely enjoy your time exploring the rooms that have interesting amenities. Depending on the season and time they have different presentations. Different from other critics here I really liked the exhibition. But what really needs to be improved is the written explanations: most is only in French, but even if there are English translations, they are very small printed and positioned very low, so that it is almost impossible to read. Same in the 2 other museums included in the ticket. Obviously the international public is not really taken care for, which is quite a contrast to the modern and international context presented in the exhibitions.

The museum of Château d'Annecy was an amazing experience! First of all, a great exhibition of well-known artist-animator Theodore Ushev was held in the museum (I think it will last until the end of September), that I loved so much!!! I'll put some photos. There are a lot of people, and you’ll need to be patient to be able to take photos from the bridge in front of it. There are plenty of restaurants, ice-cream shops and souvenir shops in the area. You can visit the inside of this palace to know more about the history of it. The price of an adult ticket is 3.80euros, and 2euros for children and free for under 12 years old.

We found the ground floor most interesting, which was about the building and had texts in multiple languages including English. The other floors were more about the local history of Annecy, which had texts only in French. It is pretty small and we were inside for less than an hour.

This gorgeous park has so many sights to see. Enjoy looking out onto the water with stunning views of the mountains. To walking on a bridge over the canal. To enjoying a picnic on the grass. There is so much to see and do in this iconic park near the old village.

Walked all the way around the basilica until we reached it. Awe inspiring. It’s a newer church, but the craftsmanship of the church itself is nice. Inside the church is magical all it’s own. Beautiful mountain to climb! If you love to hike, you should go to the top of this mountain. The trail is rough, so take it easy. On the map there are two ways to reach the top (from chalet d aulp) at le Casset the path is splitting, if you want to be challenged you can take the left one, but this is a very hard and sometimes a little dangerous way. The path to the right is more safe. To reach the plateau on top, you have to climb some ladders but it’s totally worth it!Parking is possible at pre-Verel (large) and at Col de Aulp (small)

Amazing views, but quite a tough climb and descent. Significant exposure to falls, some chains broken and polished slippery rocks. Not recommended for anyone afraid of heights or younger/inexperienced children. You can no longer park at the restaurant unless you have a reservation, and the track to it is only suitable for 4x4 anyway. I'd suggest as early as possible to ensure parking, but more importantly to keep the climb in the shade as long as possible. Grippy shoes and poles recommended

La Tournette, a mountain in the Massif in Haute-Savoie, France located above and opposite beautiful Lake Annecy where is mostly calm and considered to be quite warm comparing to mountains lakes, great for water activities (i was on the sap all week). Great hikes all around, these photo's are from the Tournette, where you drive to one of the villages under,(Montmin for ex.) it isn't easy to find the closest parking spot to start the hikes, we had to drive around small and narrow streets, but 3 times hiking and 3 times I found it at the end. The hike itself isn't too hard, we did start with a 1 hour steep descent, but the view of the Mont Blanc Ridge from up was just amazing, and lake Annecy of course. 1 hour drive from Geneva, Swiss.

This is a different beautiful walk that offers you an incredible view of the scenery around lake Annecy. You can start your walk from Restaurant Le Chalet de l'Aulp and follow the well worn path up the route. Along the route there are many marks on the rocks to help you find your way

Amazing view over Lac Annecy and the area around. Google maps says you can drive to Restaurant Le Chalet de l'Aulp and you can. But we the last part from Refuge du Pre Vèrel are rough and can look like a road for tractor. But if you can reach the top restaurant you will save 1.4 km walking and start 200 m higher over sea level. The walking up are tough but you need time, water, some food and clothes if the weather change. The shoes should also be good for hiking.

Notre-Dame is a Catholic Church in downtown Annecy, in the main shopping street.On this place a previous Church stood until the French Revolution when it was demolished. Only the bell tower survived dating back to 14 c, while the rest was rebuilt in 19 c. Interiors are very spacious and nice.

BEWARE of the false deaf mutes that make you sign a paper on the door so that you give them money. They are crooked thieves. Very nice church.

Lovely setting for a candle lit piano recital, but church pews were uncomfortable after a while.

Nice little camping place with clean toilets and a nice view of the mountains close by. It has a little restaurant and bar to go along a simple but cozy pool area.To Scandinavians who are used to wearing long swim shorts, this is not the place for you. As many other camping places in France 🇫🇷 , you are only allowed to use the pool wearing "certified" swim wear, which of course means tight and very short, almost small underwear size swim wear. Use the lake instead.

OK campsite. The comfort pitches are very large.The toilets could have been cleaner and the toilet buildings had a shabby feel to them.Nice view to the mountains, but not to the lake.2 major downsides to this campsite: No wifi and there is no grosery store close by.

Me and my partner (both 25years) camped with a tent at a nice location between apple trees, all facilities are present and the hygenic of the sanitary is good in common! The staff of the camping is very friendly and the restaurant serves very good food for a low price. For family with teenagers I think the swimming pool is a bit boring, but for a family with small kids it is excellent!The campsite is a bit far from the lake so we went by car to the beach, parking cost are low, €6,- for a dayticket.I would suggest this camping if one asks me!

Nice friendly site Situated roughly 1km from the Lake with easy access by bike to the Lake bike track and beaches. We had a large pitch for our motorhome with electric and water on pitch. Lovely restaurant and bar on site and all the staff were very friendly, also small shop on site selling most basic essentials including fresh bread and croissants every morning. Main toilet block was really clean and never too busy, a couple of older small toilet blocks that were very dated but we didn't use these. We would certainly return when in Annecy again

Our favourite spot around the lake so far!! We spent all day here. Even though it was a Saturday we easily found a space for all 10 of us. There are quite a few trees offering shade if needed. The kids never stopped…. Diving boards, water slide, volleyball court, paddling pool, table tennis. We were able to hire life vests for our non confident swimmers from the kayak place and there were also several life guards on duty. The snack bar offers basic snacks (hotdogs, chips, pizza etc) plus cold drinks to enjoy. We had a blast.

Clean, & beautiful :) Really lovely park we definitely need more. The park is mostly grass. There is a drop down at the lake, kinda like a concrete pool. There are no rocks or sand leading up to it (not like american beaches). A great place for picnics.

We loved the views over Annecy from the ropes course, and wanted to spend more time there! The Grand Course was the perfect length to push us without complete physical exhaustion. At the end of the day we had planned on taking an Uber home, but had complications. We began to walk down the mountain, when our savior volunteered to drive us back to town. This worker, whose name we forgot to ask, was so kind as to take us and was incredibly friendly and we loved the time with him just as much as our journey in the mountain!
