The Slash® Mudboss dirt oval racer is engineered to deliver competition-tuned track performance right out of the box. Slash’s already legendary durability has been enhanced with new Extreme Heavy Duty suspension components and performance upgrades such as aluminum GTR shocks, Magnum 272R™ transmission, tough clipless body, and the fast and reliable BL-2s™ brushless power system.

BL-2S BRUSHLESS POWER SYSTEM

The BL-2s brushless power system delivers more speed, quicker acceleration, and a more responsive throttle. Improved efficiency, high-speed ball bearings, and an internal cooling fan allow Slash Mudboss to run battery after battery for all-day race sessions. With no brushes to wear out, the BL-2s 3300 kV motor can last the entire racing season with minimal maintenance.

Extreme Heavy Duty components come factory-installed on Slash Mudboss for game-changing durability. Key drivetrain and suspension components are beefed-up with extra material for ultimate strength. From HD suspension arms to the upgraded axles, Slash Mudboss gets you to the finish line no matter how rough the racing action gets.

PRO SERIES MAGNUM 272R TRANSMISSION

The Magnum 272R transmission maximizes racing performance and durability for hard-hitting torque of brushless power systems. The 272R features an aluminum motor plate, all-metal gears, and a sealed silicone-filled 4-gear differential. The low-CG design concentrates weight as low as possible over the rear axle for improved traction and handling.

CLIPLESS RACE BODY

Slash MudBoss comes Ready-To-Race® with a clipless body that requires no assembly and exceeds even the best custom designs. A heavily reinforced internal cage utilizes robust top and side bracing to ward off crash damage and protect the rear tires. Traxxas clipless technology holds the body firmly in place from start to finish with quick and easy removal on the pit bench.

REPLICA HOOSIER TIRES

Replica Hoosier Angle Block tires come mounted to graphite gray “steelie” wheels for an authentic race-prepped look. The tires are molded in a special rubber compound that balances durability and traction for consistent performance lap after lap. The large tread block design utilizes aggressive siping for maximum grip and predictable handling at the limit.

ALUMINUM GTR SHOCKS

GTR shocks represent the peak of racing technology. The color-matched PTFE-coated aluminum shock bodies hold over 70% more oil than Ultra Shocks™ and their slick titanium-nitride coated shafts resist scuffing, increase durability, and eliminate “stiction.” X-ring seals keep oil in and dirt out for smooth, consistent damping, and plush suspension action. Spring preload and ride height changes are as simple as turning the threaded collars.

BUILT SLASH TOUGH

When it comes to RC racing, Slash Mudboss stands alone at the pinnacle of performance and durability. Rugged fenders and nerf bars protect the rear wheels for realistic fender-to-fender racing action with strong roof reinforcements for rollover protection. Thick front and rear tube bumpers protect Mudboss from impacts on and off the track.

Clipless Body Mounting

Locking tabs hold the body tightly to the chassis with an audible snap to signal they’re secure. The self-energizing locking tabs stay locked until you release them. This hidden latching system maximizes convenience and scale realism by removing traditional body clips which would interrupt Mudboss’ clean lines.

Realistic Oval-Track Body

Slash Mudboss is Ready-To-Race right out of the box with fully formed Midwest Modified-style dirt oval body. A realistic roll cage surrounds the driver figure and supports the roof in case of rollovers. Rugged tube-style bumpers protect the front and rear against racing incidents and an adjustable molded rear wing provides both downforce and additional full-width body support.

Extreme Heavy Duty Driveshafts

Slash Mudboss uses high-performance telescoping driveshafts designed for increased strength and articulation. Traxxas U-joint driveshafts allow for maximum suspension movement resulting in longer travel and tighter turning.

Hex Hardware

Slash Mudboss uses high-grade metric hex-drive hardware throughout for extra strength and easy maintenance. The black oxide rust-resistant finish provides a high tech look and feel.

Removable Differential

The Magnum 272R’s removable differential makes maintenance and tuning easier. With the transmission removed, disconnect the driveshafts and open the hatch to release the differential.

Low-CG Chassis

An innovative low-CG chassis positions weight down low for aggressive handling. A wide track and long wheelbase keep Slash Mudboss planted in the turns to provide the perfect balance of stability and quick responses.

Adjustable Battery Hold-Down

An innovative battery tray accommodates a wide variety of LiPo and NiMH batteries, including the new 2844R hard case 2-cell LiPo battery designed for spec racing. The extended tray allows the battery packs to be positioned forward or rearward for front/rear weight bias tuning. An optional battery hold-down kit (sold separately) accommodates oversize batteries.

Aluminum GTR Shocks

GTR shocks represent the peak of racing technology. Waterproof Receiver Box

A sealed receiver box gives you the freedom to practice your racing skills regardless of the weather. The antenna and servo wires route neatly through a patented watertight seal. A blue O-ring seals the receiver box to protect the receiver from water.

3-Channel Receiver with Fail-Safe Security

In the event of signal loss due to an accidental transmitter switch-off or depleted batteries, the receiver automatically returns the throttle to neutral and holds the last commanded steering position. The fail-safe programming is conveniently built-in and does not need to be activated.

Licensed Hoosier Tires

Licensed Hoosier tires replicate the full-size dirt oval tires used at tracks across the country. Wide tread blocks and a stiff sidewall provide consistent and predictable performance lap after lap. The tires come mounted and glued to graphite gray “steelie” style wheels for an authentic scale look.

High Torque Steering Servo

A race truck needs a powerful steering servo for responsive performance. The waterproof steering servo (2075) uses O-ring seals to keep the fun going when things get wet. The Traxxas digital high-torque servo provides precise steering authority and speed for wheel-to-wheel racing at the track.

Chassis Nerf Bars

Integrated chassis nerf bars provide strong side body support and protection for the rear wheels for realistic door-to-door dirt oval racing.

Heavy Duty Suspension Arms

Molded from our toughest composite material, Slash Mudboss’ heavy duty suspension arms provide just the right amount of flex to resist breaking. These suspension arms stand up to even the most punishing drivers for non-stop wheel-to-wheel racing.

Dual-Bellcrank Steering

Slash Mudboss uses dual steering bellcranks with optimized geometry and an integrated cam-type servo saver to protect the servo’s gears from crash damage without compromising steering precision.

Adjustable Steel Turnbuckles

Heavy-duty steel turnbuckles allow trackside camber and toe tuning for greater agility and high-speed performance. Captured rod ends provide unmatched durability and they won’t pop off during a race.

Extreme Suspension Components

Slash Mudboss comes outfitted with factory-installed extreme heavy duty upgrade parts for ultimate strength and durability. The axle carriers, C-hubs, and steering blocks are beefed up with more material and stronger construction.

Torque Control Slipper Clutch

Semi-metallic pads and finned aluminum alloy pressure plates dissipate heat and provide consistent traction. The semi-metallic friction material remains stable across a wide temperature range to provide smooth, linear engagement. Spur gears can be removed and replaced without altering the slipper adjustment.

All-Metal Internal Gears

Slash Mudboss’ race-ready Magnum 272R transmission is built for massive torque with high-strength steel input, idler, and differential gears and large-diameter bearings. The input gear is keyed and press fit onto the top shaft for greater precision and strength than a pin-mounted gear.

Rubber-Sealed Ball Bearings

Rubber-sealed bearings offer the ultimate in super low-friction performance and maximum protection in dusty environments. They are used in all exposed locations on the truck and are virtually maintenance free.

Sealed Beveled Gear Differential

The heavy duty steel-gear differential is X-ring and gasket-sealed and filled with grease for all-around performance. It’s easy to tune the differential’s locking action by adding different viscosity silicone oil to suit track conditions.

Precision Transmission Case

The Pro Series Magnum 272R™ transmission is engineered for extreme strength with a rugged, reinforced case. The case halves engage precisely to seal out dirt and debris and create a rigid structure to support the motor and suspension arms. A thick 3.2 mm T-6 aluminum motor plate resists flex and acts as a heatsink.
