PlayStation Plus June 2024: Every Essential, Extra, & Premium Game (2024)

PlayStation Plus always gets a new monthly selection of rotating titles, and June's are arriving soon as part of the regularly scheduled programming. As a subscription-based service, paying for access to PlayStation Plus offers both general online services and the ability to download a few games for free each month. These can be accessed as long as a subscription is active, including after a lapse, but they won't be available during any period where the service isn't being paid for.

In addition to the rotating titles, PlayStation Plus offers a more stable catalog of games for those who subscribe to the Extra or Premium tier. Picking any option is more beneficial than ever in June, as the Days of Play event brings a number of additional bonuses with it. These range from game catalog additions for Extra and Premium subscribers to PlayStation Plus avatars, as well as an exclusive reward offered for participating in Days of Play community challenges.

Every Game Coming To PlayStation Plus In June 2024

The official PlayStation Blog has revealed the June 2024 lineup of games being added to the rotating monthly catalog for Essential, Extra, and Premium subscribers. This month is adding SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake, AEW FIght Forever, and Streets of Rage 4. Although the announcements usually indicate which games will be available on PS4, PS5, or both, no such clarification is present for June, but the fact that all three received PS4 releases means they should presumably be accessible on both systems.

June 2024 Brings Chaotic Action To PlayStation Plus

Spongebob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake might have the most broad appeal of the new PlayStation Plus additions, with a platform action focus and familiar IP that could work for both families and adults. Although it's not a genre game-changer in the same way that the best Super Mario games can be, The Cosmic Shake met with a solid critical reception that reflects its potential for plenty of basic fun. It's essentially a spiritual successor to Spongebob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom, which was remastered by the same studio that embarked on The Cosmic Shake after finishing that project.

AEW Fight Forever is intended for more of a niche, focusing largely on an arcade approach to the world of wrestling. While its gameplay has been generally praised, a lack of content can make it underwhelming at full price. This mixed bag makes it perfect for a PS Plus addition, as the fun to be had goes down a lot more smoothly when there's no worry about the price.

When it comes to Streets of Rage 4, no such caveats color the affair. As a continuation of a long-dormant classic beat 'em up series, Streets of Rage 4 garnered rave reviews thanks to its smooth update of everything that made the series special. This might very well be the best game added to PlayStation Plus in June 2024, rounding out a trio of titles that properly celebrate the Days of Play event for all subscribers.
